The YFCA Annual Gala 2022

Join us as we celebrate this year’s honorees, Abby and George O’Neill & Family, and Jesse and Lindsay Schenker.

All of the honorees are unwavering advocates for the services that YFCA provides our community. Their stories, experiences, and support help us to fulfill our mission of providing help and hope to those who are most in need.

We honor our founders, Abby and George, and the O’Neill Family for recognizing need in the community and providing the support and funding to start the Youth and Family Counseling Agency in 1969. Then in 1981, the O’Neill’s, through the Community Foundation of Oyster Bay underwrote the building which we call home. Earlier this year, our building at 12 Irving Place was donated to YFCA. This building will now be named for our Founders.

Jesse and Lindsay Schenker are Oyster Bay residents who are best known for their talents of making 2 Spring an authentic and unique culinary experience. In addition to their success as restaurateurs, they are outspoken advocates for accessible quality mental health and substance abuse services.

Their inspiring story was detailed in the book “All or Nothing: One Chef’s Appetite for the Extreme”, a culinary memoir that illuminates the highs and lows of addiction, anxiety, and ambition in the world of haute cuisine.

YFCA is proud to be the recipient of the GuideStar Gold Designation in honor of the caliber of its services and fiscal responsibility. As a Guide Star Gold Designee, nearly 90% of every dollar raised provides services to those in need. And the demands of our community are greater than ever.
